Why can't I choose a puppy?
Quite simply... because he has to fit into the family with his character and not because he is brown, white or female/male.
The character here is the most important ingredient that every puppy brings!
How can I apply for a puppy from us?
I am always asked how you can apply for a puppy with us.
First of all, it must be said that we wish the lively exchange with our puppy families. It is our personal concern to get to know the families personally, the experiences, the perspectives and also what is required by the dog. What the puppy should bring, are all information that we would like to know in personal conversations.
Of course, we also have a questionnaire that is filled out in advance so that we can make an impression in advance - who is on the other side of the Internet line.
But the personal is much more important. Because the chemistry has to be right, also between us and the puppy family, because I raise my puppies with so much passion that I would like to continue contact afterwards.
We can understand it well if you get from far away that such close contact and regular visits are not possible, but we can also offer video conferences to exchange ideas personally.
A pre-knowing is therefore a MUST with us and not yet a promise of a puppy with us. We hope you can understand that. But it is definitely the first step!
Of course, the commitment is also related to factors that we cannot influence. If the bitch becomes pregnant and how many puppies are born healthy.

Colour
A Lagotto's coat color changes constantly. Even if they are born chocolate brown, their color is always changing. Therefore, the color is a snapshot in time and not permanent.
Gender
Male or female... each gender has its pros and cons. Why choose a male? Why choose a female? Dominance, shyness, anxiety, etc., exist in every gender, so the most important thing is temperament.
Character

We cannot answer this in a blanket way, what we can say is that we want a good relationship before and after the acquisition of a puppy.
You want a lively exchange before the bitch is proven?

Supporting the Nugget Families
We are often asked if we are there for the families even after the puppies have moved in... A clear yes! We support the families with advice and deeds.
After moving in, we create a What ́s app group for the families and here we can quickly exchange ideas, if there are questions, can answer the questions asked promptly and everyone can benefit from the answer here. So we are always approachable, we see this as responsible breeders for granted.
If you are interested in allowing the dog to breed later, we are always ready to support you here and go with you the way to the breeding license.
Why is it not possible to choose a dog by gender and color here?
There are many reasons why we chose this path. Above all, the needs of both owner and dog must align. There are many different personalities, both human and canine, and not everyone has high work demands or an extroverted temperament. There are also introverted, sensitive puppies who need a certain degree of consistency and time to adjust to new situations. What good is it if the family travels a lot and is exposed to a high volume of new situations, potentially overwhelming the dog? In the long run, both dog and owner would be unhappy.
It is possible to have the puppies tested for their basic characteristics from the 6th week onwards, and we consider this a very good way to entrust the person with the right dog to the best of our knowledge and conscience.
We know it's not always easy for the puppy's new family, because for the first 6-7 weeks you don't know which puppy will be joining your family. But for the later years of living together – what difference do 6-7 weeks make if it all works out well in the end?

"I want a Lagotto and to use it as a therapy dog!"
A therapy companion and / A therapy dog but also an assistance dog - there are considerable differences in training and requirement.
Our dogs, i.e. our East and also our Maple are not trained as such and, in my opinion, are not suitable for use in such an area.
Whether a puppy is suitable as a therapy dog is related to so many factors and cannot be named by the breeder in the first 8 weeks.

What do we think about this?
Anyone who requests from us has a great background if the dog is to be involved in animal-supported therapy.
But... now comes that but!!!
Not every dog is suitable for this and if you deal with the topic properly, you know that in a puppy pack of about 10 puppies there is perhaps only one who can meet these requirements or no one.
We cannot guarantee this and we do not want to, because our puppies cannot be prepared for such a demanding work. In addition, we must say that we believe that there are more suitable breeds for such a responsible task and that the Lagotto does not count here. This breed is very agile and can tend to be nervous and shy. For some, this is even very pronounced and even if our 2 are very open-minded dogs, this cannot be assumed in puppies who still strengthen your character.

Furthermore, we often wonder, since therapy dog training only really starts when the dog is an adult, i.e., at 12 months old... what happens if the dog is not suitable and the dream of animal-assisted therapy is not possible?
To avoid leaving this question unanswered, we don't want to expose our puppies to it. Furthermore, we currently feel that it's a trend, with every other inquiry bringing up this topic, and we can't in good conscience accommodate that.
Ears Lagotto
I'm asked as often as I pluck my ears at my Lagottos that I made a little video to show you.
There are many methods to pluck the ears and certainly feel 100 variants as someone does it.
